What would make a good breast phantom for MRI experiments?
Well, my knowledge of the tissue characteristics of breasts are not that great. Don't have much life experience in this area 
. Sure I know there quite soft and flexible. I guess viscoelastic? And more visco than elastic... anyway to the point... what would be a good material to model breasts?
It should be MR-compatable.... no metals or things that will go flying around. It should be completely made from oil/fat because that will give some problems with scanning. However, breasts do contain a large amount of fat so I guess it could partly be used.

Since the breast is, essentially, a modified sweat gland and you had access to a high field magnet, you could try some sort of fatty tissue (perhaps from a cadaver or from an animal byproduct and using a silicone or saline implant, you can deliberately traverse the implant causing an intracapsular rupture and look for the so-called "linguini sign."

Pet care has advanced a lot in recent years, in all areas, including dog beds. Some of the biggest and most practical advantages have come in memory foam.
