Fellow LDS: is there a story behind "God Save the King" being in the hymnbook?

I mean, with there being a couple of American patriotic songs in the back, I always assumed that hymn books outside the U.S. had anthems for their respective countries. But if I'm correct in thinking that, why is God Save the King at the end of the American edition? Or am I wrong, and is that the only edition?

There were a LOT of Brits joining the church in the days when the hymnbook was first compiled, so of course it would be included. And I suppose it's still there because the British are still a major part of the English speaking Mormons.

...though as an American, I'm kind of glad. That song always makes me giggle like the immature person I am.
